This program provides comprehensive education in criminology that will prepare students to succeed as professionals and leaders in the field. The major is excellent preparation for any career that deals with at-risk populations, the justice system, social work or the law.

The criminology degree program prepares graduates for a career in law enforcement, probation, crime prevention, forensic research, law studies, rehabilitation, at-risk population programs, or advanced studies in sociology, criminology, social work or law. This bachelor’s degree program is excellent preparation for any career that deals with at-risk populations, the justice system, social work or law.

This minor is an interdisciplinary program intended to develop a theoretical understanding of global cultures while experiencing diversity in Los Angeles and the University community.

The minor in documentary provides students in any major with the foundational artistic and technical skills needed to produce cinematic nonfiction content to tell and address the compelling stories of today.

The MFA Film and MBA programs have come together to design and offer a dual degree program for students who wish to pursue both degrees concurrently. Pursuing both degrees broadens the skills set of our graduates and makes them more competitive in the job market. It also allows students to pursue two degrees at a discounted rate of time and tuition, compared to completing both degrees individually.

The associate of arts degree program in early childhood education is designed for the student who wishes to enter the field of preschool teaching directly upon graduation or to prepare for a career working with children and/or families. At the completion of the two-year program, the student is qualified to teach in child development programs (pre-kindergarten). The student may also continue to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in child development, or they may complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree with a liberal studies major.

The Individually Designed Program (IDP) Master of Science in Education degree is for currently practicing teachers and allows students to "mix and match" graduate level education courses to best suit their unique needs and interests

Welcome to our Induction Program! We are excited to offer preliminary credential teachers two pathways for clearing your multiple subjects, single subject or special education credential.

Please note that the Induction Program to Clear Credential is a job-embedded program that focuses on mentoring and support. You must hold a preliminary teaching credential and be employed as a teacher in order to complete the Induction program.

The Instructional Leadership (IL) program is a Master of Science in Education degree that prepares experienced teachers who already possess a preliminary credential to become teacher leaders on campus. You will refine your pedagogy and curriculum development skills and develop the leadership skills required for coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development.

The graduate certificate program offers fully credentialed teachers the same core courses as those in the Master of Science in Education, plus one additional elective. This program - which can be completed in one year, or at your own pace - is ideal for experienced educators with master’s degrees hoping to bring teacher leadership skills to their classrooms and school sites.

The Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential is designed for individuals who wish to be TK-6th grade (i.e. Elementary) licensed teachers in the state of California.

The Preliminary Single Subject Credential is designed for individuals who wish to teach 6th to 12th grade (i.e. Secondary) or teach one subject matter across all levels (TK-12) as licensed teachers in the state of California.

Completing this rigorous credential program involves five to eight semesters of study that includes a breadth of experiential fieldwork and a short, required summer course at John Tracy Center in Los Angeles.

The Education Specialist Program in Mild to Moderate Disabilities at Mount Saint Mary’s University has been designed to provide you with many professional options. The core of your program will be the Education Specialist Credential Program, that leads to a California Preliminary Special Education in Mild to Moderate teaching credential. 

With an elementary multiple-subject credential, students can concurrently earn their teaching credential while majoring in Liberal Studies.

An English degree prepares students for a career in any field, including business, public service, law, administration, social work, journalism and other fields. Alumnae from the Ë®¹ûÅÉ Department of English have gone on to medical school, law school and business school, as well as careers in social work, politics, entertainment and education.

This program offers students the opportunity to double major in English and business administration. Students can combine their knowledge of marketing, accounting, management and international business with writing skills, storytelling, perspective and cultural awareness.

A degree in creative writing teaches and encourages students to write about the world around them, sharing new ideas and advocating for a more just society. This program prepares students who want to write professionally in various genres, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry and screenplays.

The Mount's Certificate in Entrepreneurship introduces you to the tools you need to recognize opportunities and cultivates an entrepreneurial mindset – regardless of your major!

The BA in Environmental Studies is specifically designed for students wishing to pursue an interdisciplinary degree in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities aimed at bettering our communities and the world.

Ë®¹ûÅÉ’s ethnic studies minor provides students with the tools to critically examine the role of race, ethnicity, gender, class, sexuality, migration and other social structures in local and global contexts. Students minoring in ethnic studies will be equipped to become change agents as they engage with the world through a social justice lens.
