Summer jumpstart

Explore

Your journey begins even before your first semester. Summer Jumpstart gives you the opportunity to earn academic credits, connect with classmates and get to know the Mount community, all at no extra cost. You’ll experience the cultural and professional landscape of Los Angeles through immersive workshops and activities designed to help you transition confidently into college life.

Year 1

Discover

Your first year is all about discovering who you are and identifying your passions. Meet your Athenian Advisory Team, map your personal values and strengths and join a Learning Community that supports your growth. Participate in the MOUNTleads Student Leader Summit and the Career Launch program, where you’ll begin to understand who you are as a leader and define career goals grounded in reflection and purpose.

Year 2

Build

In your second year, you’ll begin transforming self-awareness into action. Deepen your skills through student organizations and campus leadership roles such as Orientation Leader, Student Government representative or Community Student Ambassador. Gain professional development experiences. Connect with mentors and industry professionals. Through real-world experience, you’ll refine your voice, strengthen your collaboration skills and gain valuable tools for your future career.

Year 3

Launch

In your third year, you’ll participate in a high-impact internship, externship or a faculty led research project. Engage in advanced career coaching with your Athenian Advisory Team. Earn a micro-credential to showcase your leadership and career readiness at no extra cost. You’ll strengthen your skills and connect your leadership learning to your professional path.

Lead

As you prepare for life after the Mount, you’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice in your final year. Engage in capstone projects, mentoring and national leadership conferences.
