Alumnae returned to campus on April 18, 2026, for a Volunteer Open House and Alumnae Mixer hosted by the Office of Alumnae Relations. The afternoon focused on connection, purpose, and the many ways Mount graduates can continue to shape the University’s future.
Held at the Doheny Campus, the Open House invited alumnae to rediscover the Mount through a new lens — not just as graduates, but as mentors, advocates and partners in the student experience. Campus representatives from Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Career and Professional Development, Weekend, Evening, and Online College (WEOC), First-Year Seminar, and the Department of Film, Media and Communication shared opportunities for alumnae to support students through mentorship, career guidance and community engagement.
Conversations throughout the afternoon reflected a shared commitment to giving back. Alumnae connected with emerging affinity groups, explored philanthropic impact, and engaged in an open dialogue with the Alumnae Association Board of Directors, creating space for meaningful discussion about leadership, service and staying involved after graduation.
The celebration continued at Rose Hills Plaza, where alumnae gathered over dinner, reconnected with classmates and built new relationships across generations.
For many, the event reaffirmed the value of their Mount experience and the desire to pay it forward. “I am infinitely grateful for all the doors my Ë®¹ûÅÉ degrees have opened for me, so I joyfully want to give back,” shared Susana Medina ’11, ’15.
“This gathering was about more than reconnecting, it was about creating meaningful pathways for alumnae to stay engaged in ways that matter to them,” said Sarah Schroeder, director of Alumnae Relations. “We are building a stronger, more connected alumnae network that supports both our graduates and our students.”
Our alumnae are at the heart of the Mount’s legacy, and their continued involvement helps shape the experiences of today’s students. There are many meaningful ways to stay connected and make an impact:
- Alumnae Association Board of Directors: Serve as a strategic leader and a voice for our community, helping to shape the future of alumnae engagement and support University initiatives.
- Alumnae Affinity Groups: Support and grow affinity groups, including the Black Alumnae Association and Latina Alumnae Association, creating spaces for connection, shared experiences and professional support.
- Class Ambassadors: Help foster lifelong connections among classmates and supporting milestone events such as reunions and Homecoming.
- Site Visits and Professional Networking: Host students at your workplace for a "day-in-the-life" experience or offer professional insights that help students bridge the gap between the classroom and their careers.
- First-Year Seminar (FYS) Alumnae Connection Pool: Act as a guide for our First-Year Seminar students, providing the mentorship and support they need to navigate their first year at the Mount with confidence.
